News from AESOP representative in GPEAN:

The Call for Submissions for the 2021 Innovate for Cities conference has been released and is linked below. I4C is aligned directly with the P4CA goals and is co-sponsored by UN-Habitat and the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy. Given this, we ask that GPEAN broadly share this Call in your networks and actively seek to promote program proposal submissions. It would be valuable to have a strong showing by urban planning schools in the I4C conference. Tools to promote appear below and are attached and linked.

We invite you to collaborate on the #Innovate4Cities Conference themed to promote the Global Research and Action Agenda will take place virtually 11-15 October 2021. Discussions stemming from this broader theme will address more specific topics, such as post-pandemic recovery, climate justice and green strategies.

The I4C program will showcase the latest urban science and innovation from academia, city practitioners, policymakers, the private sector, and civil society, helping to bridge the gap between climate ambitions and results. We are calling for submissions with a unique focus on urban research and innovation across the conference themes, inspired by the Global Research and Action Agenda.

The submission deadline is 4 August.

I4C is jointly sponsored by UN-Habitat and the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy.
