Dear Habitat UNI members,
We are pleased to inform you that the deadline for applications for the Habitat UNI Booth at WUF12 has been extended to September 30th.
Habitat UNI will have a booth in the 12th World Urban Forum in Cairo and is inviting universities – that are members of Habitat UNI and fit the following criteria – to apply by September 30th.
High-education institutes that fit in the following criteria:
- Significant work on research or teaching related to sustainable urbanization;
- No funding available to pay for a booth;
- Preferably, presence in the Global South or conflict zones;
- At least 1 person from the university confirmed that is attending WUF12;
Selected institutes will:
- Be able to schedule at least 1 small-scale event in the booth to present the work of the university during WUF and invite attendees. (The number and duration of event slots will depend on the demand received for the UNI Booth, varying between 30 min to 2 hours.)
- Leave promotional materials (handouts) in the booth for distribution;
- Share promotional videos in the screen.
Selected institutes will NOT:
- Have sponsorship on flights or DSA;
- Need to pay any fees for the booth;
- Be able to put posters or banners in the booth;
- Have the logo branded in the booth;
- Have exclusivity in the use of the booth, it will need to conciliate with the collective use by other selected universities;
The booth will:
- Be branded as Habitat UNI;
- Be 36 sqm;
- Have 1 led screen, to display promotional videos as well as conduct presentations;
- NOT have a computer or laptop available.
The UNI Booth will be part of the Urban Expo at the twelfth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12). Applications can be submitted by 30 September through events.unhabitat.org. In your application submit it as “Habitat UNI Booth”. For instructions in the application, please kindly access here. Selected Habitat UNI Booths will not need to pay any fees, as this is a booth kindly sponsored by the Egypt Government. Selected Habitat UNI Booths will be contacted early October.
