The School of Architecture, Planning & Landscape is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant/Associate to work on Sustainable Urban Metabolism for Europe (SUME), a Collaborative Research Project funded under the European Union Framework Programme 7 in which Newcastle University is a core partner and its team is led by Professor Simin Davoudi. The tasks will include: working with academic staff on reviewing current research and knowledge and producing research reports; preparing frameworks for research and data collection by research partners; maintaining contacts and organising meetings with research partners, undertaking original qualitative and quantitative research; coordinating the SUME content of the GURU and IRES websites. You should have significant experience of research in urban planning policies and institutions and environmental issues as well as good organisational skills.
