AESOP extends its sincere appreciation to the University of Liverpool for hosting the AESOP 2025 Heads of Schools Meeting, which brought together planning scholars and professionals from across Europe to engage in meaningful discussions on legitimacy and inclusiveness in planning education.

The event was enriched by outstanding keynote presentations from Lucy Natarajan, Nick Small, and Jonathan Metzger, who provided valuable insights in the morning session. We were also pleased to receive updates on the InPlanEd project from Yannis Paraskevopoulos and on the AESOP Quality Recognition process from Chris Maidment.

The afternoon sessions saw dynamic breakout discussions exploring different aspects of the event’s themes. We are grateful to Tom Moore, Dominique Price, Tom Cardwell, Matt Dugdale, Yannis Paraskevopoulos, Sam Hayes (PLACED), Daniel Slade, and Machel Bogues (Royal Town Planning Institute) for their valuable contributions.

A special thank you goes to the LOC and in particular to Olivier Sykes and Becca Prescott for their outstanding support in ensuring the smooth running of the event.

AESOP is deeply grateful to the University of Liverpool and its organizing team for their dedication and hospitality, which made this event a truly engaging and productive gathering for the planning education community.
