During the General Assembly of the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP), held at the AESOP Annual Congress in Paris at Sciences Po, Professor Simin Davoudi was officially announced as an Honorary Member of the organization. Honorary Memberships are conferred to persons who have made significant contributions to the discipline of planning in Europe.
The appointment was presented by AESOP President, Thomas Dillinger, who expressed great admiration for Professor Davoudi's significant work and her commitment to promoting sustainable and inclusive planning practices. President Dillinger highlighted how her influence has inspired many generations of planners and academics across Europe and beyond.
Following the announcement, a heartfelt speech was delivered by Angelique Chettiparamb, University of Reading, former AESOP General Secretary, who recalled the numerous collaborations and the profound impact Professor Davoudi has had within the organization over the years.
