The Secretary General got two bids for hosting the AESOP Congress in 2017. The applications came from
- the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning (IGOT), the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), and the Faculty of Architecture (FA), University of LISBON,
- the Department of Conservation at the University of GOTHENBURG, together with the Department of Architechure, Chalmers University of Technology, Department of Urban Planning and Environment, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, and the Department of Spatial Planning, Blekinge Institute of Technology, Karlskrona,
- Urban Studies at the University of GLASGOW.
and presented very ambitious content. Sofia Morgado presented the bid on behalf of the Univeristy of Lisbon, Krister Olsson and Bosse Lagerqvist presented the bid on behalf of Gothenburg and Amin Kamete presented the bid on behalf of Glasgow.

The 2017 AESOP Congress will take place in Lisbon.
The Council invited also Univeristy of Gothenburg to host the Congress in 2018 and this invitation has been accepted. Therefore
The 2018 AESOP Congress will take place in Gothenburg.
The Council of Representatives and the ExCo would like to express a word of gratitude to the University of Lisbon, the Univeristy of Gothenburg and the Univeristy of Glasgow for their outstanding work and commitment.
In 2016 AESOP will be participating at the World Planning Schools Congress in Rio de Janeiro. AESOP PhD Workshop however will take place in Europe.
The Secretary General got one bid for hosting the AESOP PhD Workshop in 2016. It came from the KU Leuven - Department of Architecture. Jan Schreurs presented the bid to the Council.
The Council of Represntatives gladly accepted the tender.
AESOP 2016 PhD Workshop will take place in JUNE in Leuven.
