AESOP is pleased to invite its member schools to apply to host the 21st AESOP Heads of Schools Meeting, which will take place in Spring 2027.

Applications to be sent to the AESOP General Secretariat (
Application dossiers should include:
(a) Information about the hosting institution:
- Educational and research profile
- Organisational capacity to host the event
- Potential collaboration with local stakeholders (e.g. local authorities, planning associations)
- Financial capacity to support the event
(b) Information about the location and format of the event (in-person and online):
- Accessibility of the location
- Hotel/accommodation capacity
- Public transport connections
- Estimated average costs for in-person participants (daily expenses for hotel, meals, transport)
(b, ii) Technical logistics for a hybrid event:
- Maximum number of attendees (in-person and online)
- Technical solutions/platforms planned for the hybrid format
- Cost structure for participation (nominal fees for both in-person and online)
(c) Information about proposed study tours:
- Brief description of the planned tours and their relevance to planning education and practice
The Council of Representatives may consider the attractiveness of the location from a planning perspective as an added value in the evaluation process.
The selection will take place on the occasion of the AESOP Council of Representatives (CoRep) Meeting, scheduled on 29 July 2026, during the WPSC in Helsinki. On that occasion, applicants will be required to deliver a 5-minute presentation of their proposal.
