AESOP is looking for candidates for the Chair of the AESOP Best Published Paper Award Committee (2023 – 2028).

The Chair of the Best Published Paper Award Committee is responsible for organizing the work of the committee, managing contacts with journal editors, coordinating the evaluation of nominated articles, drafting material for the Best Published Paper Award website and presenting the results of the evaluation during the AESOP Annual Congress. According to the AESOP Charter (Art. 16e), the Chair of the AESOP Best Published Paper Award is an AESOP Official and must therefore be confirmed by Council of Representatives. The mandate of the Chair lasts for 5 years.

The chair of the Best Published Paper Award Committee (2023 – 2028) should hold an academic position in an AESOP member school. This person should be fluent in English and familiar with the profile of the Award. The chair should possess good communication and cooperation skills. Previous involvement in the AESOP Best Published Paper Award Committee and/or experience in editorial boards would be an advantage. The candidate should not hold a position which poses a conflict of interest, such as the editor of a planning journal.

The selection of candidates will be made by AESOP’s Executive Committee and final confirmation will be made by Council of Representatives at the 2023 Head of Schools CoRep meeting to be held on 23 March, 2023.
