AESOP is pleased to announce that the 2026 membership renewal campaign will be launched in the coming days.

We warmly invite all our member institutions to prepare for the renewal process and to continue being part of a vibrant and inspiring community dedicated to advancing planning education, research and practice across Europe and beyond.

Why remain part of AESOP?

Being an AESOP member means joining a strong international network of planning schools and professionals. Membership provides access to a wide range of benefits, including:

  • Participation in AESOP events, such as the Congress, Heads of Schools Meetings, and PhD Workshops, with a dedicated participation fee.
  • Opportunities to engage in collaborative research, teaching and exchange initiatives
  • Access to publications, lecture series and knowledge-sharing platforms
  • Eligibility to take part in calls, awards and governance roles within the Association
  • Being part of a community that actively contributes to shaping the future of planning education

Important update on eligibility

Please note that, starting this year, access to AESOP benefits will require that membership fees are fully paid up to the previous year.

This applies to all activities, including:

  • Participation in AESOP calls (e.g. awards, positions, lecture series)
  • Eligibility to host AESOP events
  • Engagement in governance and institutional initiatives

We therefore encourage all members to ensure that their payments are up to date in order to fully benefit from AESOP opportunities.

Important notice – change of bank account

Please note that AESOP will be introducing a new bank account for membership payments. We kindly ask all institutions to pay close attention to the updated banking details, which will be clearly communicated in the renewal emails.

We also recommend that you inform your administrative and financial offices in advance to avoid any delays or confusion during the payment process.

In addition, payments will also be possible by credit card, offering greater flexibility for member institutions.

Need assistance?

If you are uncertain about your current payment status, the contacts associated with your institution, or if you require any further information, we kindly invite you to contact the AESOP Secretariat and Treasurer.

In the meantime, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our members for their continued support and engagement.
