An editorial team in AESOP Sustainable Food Planning is launching a call for chapters for the edited volume “The Changemaking of Urban Food Systems: a Methodological Lens”
This volume seeks to bring together contributions from the diverse field of urban food planning and urban food systems, with a critical focus on the role of methodologies as tools to reveal, analyze, or shape food system dynamics. Chapters’ contributions will go through a peer-review process.A international publishing house has expressed an interest for this volume.
Particularly welcome is research from young scholars and emerging ‘food planners’ offering fresh and innovative perspectives in the field. We are, however, open to diverse scholars whose work and interest resonate with the content of the call.

To express your interest, please send an abstract of approx. 300-400 words with title and keywords, explaining the perspective content of your chapter and how it links to the theme of the edited volume.
The deadline for abstract submissions is September 30th 2025.

Expected timeline of the edited volume:
-31st October: Feedback to authors on selected abstracts
-31st March 2026: deadline full chapters submission
-April-May 2026: peer-review process and feedback to authors
-July 2026: second deadline revised papers’ submission.
Expected publication of the Volume in Fall 2026.
