The Editorial Board of Transactions of AESOP are pleased to announce that Volume 5 Issue 1 of the journal has now been published and is available for free download here.

The Issue brings together a selection of peer-reviewed papers submitted to recent rounds of the Best AESOP Congress Paper Award and an invited paper by the Chair of the AESOP Congress Paper Award Committee. The papers address key themes in contemporary planning research and practice and reflect the ongoing engagement of the discipline with new concepts and practices including, relationality, innovation, rescaling, green infrastructure, and circular economies. This stimulating collection provides an insight into the dynamism of planning research which is particularly welcome at this time when normal academic life and exchanges are still being disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Editorial Board of Transactions of AESOP would like to remind readers that the journal is open to submissions from all those who wish to share their research and practice in the planning discipline. We are particularly keen to see submissions arising from the ongoing series of conferences, workshops, and other events organised by AESOP and its partners during 2021, which have fostered opportunities for international exchange despite the challenging international situation. Transactions is also happy to receive and consider proposals for special issue on themes of planning interest.

Happy reading and best wishes for the Summer!
