CoPED 2023: RE-IMAGINE South Messina

Call for Applications

Are you a graduate student or an early career researcher with an interest in socially just and ecological community development?

Joining CoPED will allow you to be part of a transdisciplinary and participatory action-research team that, for 10 days, will collaborate with a coalition of civic groups and activists from Southern District of the City of Messina. The team will work on a regeneration plan for long-abandoned and environmentally compromised industrial sites along the Ionian cost of Sicily, engaging the local community in the co design of strategies for enhancing the uniqueness of the local landscape while dealing with conflicting land uses like vacancies, impoverished public housing, shopping malls, and operating industrial facilities.

WORK PROGRAM
This is a 10-day-long intensive workshop. Daily participation, from 8:30am until 6pm is required (with the exception of Thursday, June 22, which is a free day). A detailed program will be provided to selected participants.
