This position provides the basis from which to extend and improve the RTPI’s development of policy, promotion of planning and comment on planning and development issues of public and professional concern in England. In this role, you would be responsible for developing and promoting a range of sound and consistent policy positions for the RTPI, becoming a spokesperson, raising planning’s profile and initiating and contributing to related activities in England. You must have a sound working knowledge of the English planning system. You will be aware of the current policy issues affecting planning in England and be excited by the opportunity to influence the policy agenda.  You will be self motivated, have the ability to think creatively and will relish the opportunity to represent planning and the institute in many debates.  Excellent communication skills are essential.  You must be a corporate member of the RTPI or demonstrate progress towards this end.
