University College Dublin is a large and diverse University whose origin dates back to 1854. There are over 22,000 students including 2,500 international students from more than 80 countries. The University is situated on a large modern campus about 4km to the south of the centre of Dublin.
Candidates must possess a PhD in Planning or related discipline (or will have successfully completed a PhD in Planning or related discipline by the time of taking up post). Preference may be given to candidates with research interests in one or more of the following areas: Comparative International Planning; Environmental Planning; GIS, Spatial Analysis and Planning; Planning Methodologies; Strategic and Regional Planning; Transportation and Infrastructure Planning. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will take up post in September 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter.
