(A) Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Urban Design (Ref: RF-200812009-548), applicants should possess a strong track record in design, teaching and practice/research, including local or international experience. In line with the Department's strategic vision, a commitment to practice/research and teaching from a sustainability perspective is desirable. Membership, or eligibility for membership, in professional urban planning institutes, and knowledge of advanced digital technologies applicable to the field, are also desirable. The appointee will be expected to contribute effectively to programme administration, demonstrate leadership in this area of knowledge, develop and teach courses including, but not limited to, urban design principles, physical environment and site planning, and urban design studios in the Master of Urban Design programme, and contribute to teaching in the urban planning workshops.

(B) Assistant Professor in Housing Studies Vacancies (Ref.: RF-200812009-549), applicants should possess a doctoral degree, and a strong teaching and research track record with the ability to secure research funding. In line with the Department's research strategy, a commitment to research and teaching from a sustainability perspective is desirable. Membership, or eligibility for membership, in professional housing institutes is also desirable. The appointee will be expected to contribute effectively to programme administration and the organization of research activities in the housing discipline, demonstrate an ability to develop and teach courses including, but not limited to, housing economics,  research methods and other courses in the professional Master's and Bachelor's degree programmes in Housing Management, and contribute to dissertation supervision.

From 1 July 2009 on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal. For post (A), the appointee may be considered for tenure during a second three-year contract.
