AESOP would like to thank the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape, Newcastle University and the Global Urban Research Unit (GURU) for the excellent organization of the 13th AESOP Heads of Schools Planning Education & Research: Retrospect and Prospect.
This year the AESOP Heads of Schools Meeting coincided with the 25th Anniversary of the Global Urban Research Unit (GURU) and the event has been a great joy and pleasure to all of us, so largely thanks to the dedicated work and hospitality of our English colleagues, to whom we remain grateful.
We wish to thank in particular Simin Davoudi, Director of GURU and Chair of the Local Organizing Committee and Susannah Gunn, Director of Planning, APL, for all their work and commitment to the organization of the AESOP Heads of Schools Meeting and for their major contribution to the success of this event.
The team from Newcastle has shown remarkable efficiency and reliability and we would like to extend our gratitude to Alison Pattison and the rest of the Staff of the Newcastle University who helped during the event.
We also wish to extend a special thanks to Suzanne Cholerton, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching) and Adam Sharr, Head of School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape for their contribution and support to this event.
A very special acknowledgment goes to Patsy Healey (GURU) who presented a most inspiring keynote speech, and also to the Chairs, Raporteurs and members of the different Panels for all the interesting and stimulating presentations and discussions.
