AESOP has undertaken part of a program run by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) on planning education and its relationship to the labour market and profession.
For this program, AESOP is seeking a research assistant, from the AESOP’s Young Academics.
The object of the program is to create a model postgraduate course aimed at bridging gaps between the market and education. In this context, AESOP is looking for a young planner, as a research assistant, in order to assist in the development of the program carried out by the two main researchers from AESOP's side.
The first and intensive phase of the work will take place until the end of April 2023, while the second phase will be periodic for one year. The object of the first phase (WP2) (Competence Framework for developing a Collaborative Online International Learning [COIL] course on integrated planning approaches) will be the distribution of questionnaires to European university professors, , students, and market executives (planners), conducting interviews, and the processing of completed questionnaires in various ways, as well as assistance in the analysis of educational programs (curricula) of 10 European schools of planning. The second phase will be the participation of the research assistant in WP4 (COIL modular course on Integrated Approaches in the Planning of Inclusive, People-centric and Climate-resilient Cities: piloting and assessment of the course, led by NTUA), and WP5 (Dissemination and Communication of Project results, led by ‘commonspace’).
For the person who will be selected, knowledge of the educational parameters of planning, ability to conduct interviews and handle the answers from the questionnaires using databases (mainly qualitative processing), knowledge of organizing internet meetings, fluency in English, are required.
The stipulated remuneration will be made by AESOP and will be of the order of 7400 euros before any taxes. A more detailed agreement will be established between AESOP and the selected person, concerning financial details. Payments will be made in instalments both in terms of amount and time and will depend on the respective payments of the contracting authority (EC Erasmus +) to NTUA.
