AESOP is pleased to announce the call for the position of President.
This prestigious leadership role is central to the Association’s strategic direction and collaboration within the global planning education community.
Position Overview
According to Article 23(c) of the AESOP Charter, the President serves a two-year term, starting in August 2026 and concluding in July 2028. The elected candidate will begin their service one year before the official start (August 2025), and during this preparatory year will undertake the role of Vice President. After the presidential term ends, the President transitions back to the Senior Vice President role for one additional year (Until July 2029).
Eligibility
As outlined in Article 22(b) of the AESOP Charter, only academics from AESOP Full Member institutions are eligible to run for President. Per Article 23(k), once the mandatory term has been completed, the President shall not be eligible for re-election in the same functions.
